Burns Harbor visits from Santa spread holiday cheer

On the night before Christmas Eve Santa Claus teamed up with the Burns Harbor Fire Department to spread some holiday cheer.

A caravan of volunteer firefighters from the Town of Burns Harbor drove the ambulance, emergency response vehicle and Ladder 22 with Santa safely in the passenger seat to visit three homes around the Duneland community. At each surprise visit Santa and the firefighters greeted the family and passed out presents in hopes of fulfilling their Christmas wishes.

This special occasion was made possible by the generous donations from our community who came out and supported the Burns Harbor Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Spaghetti Dinner in October. The success of the dinner made it possible give these families the memories of Christmas cheer. The volunteer firefighters were equally rewarded by grateful hearts and smiling faces.
