On Saturday, June 26, 2021, the Burns Harbor Park Department will be hosting the 7th Annual Footloose 5K Run/Walk at Lakeland Park.

Haglund and Westport Roads will both be closed to vehicle traffic for the duration of the 5K Run/Walk from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

While we are not requiring anyone not to drive during this time, we kindly ask the affected residents to finish their transportation through these areas before the time of the 5K and resume after the 5K clears the roads. For the safety of the runners, walkers and staff, traffic will not be allowed on these two roads and will be detoured or halted during the time of the 5K. As runners and walkers start to diminish off the roads, limited traffic flow may be permitted as directed by the police and fire units working the event. Although we cannot guarantee an exact time, we guarantee full access of the roads by 9:30 a.m., possibly sooner.
